Personal Information: Married to Jesse Martinez. We have a blended family of five adult children and 13 grandchildren. Forest Grove has been my home for over 35 years.

I have actively participated in my council role the last 3.5 yrs. I speak my mind even when my views are unpopular with fellow councilors. Varying beliefs should be brought to the table and discussed. I believe in honesty, integrity and commitment to serving the people of Forest Grove.
Solutions for Homeless Issues: Participated in petitioning Washington County for closure of B St & Hwy 47 camps. Crime numbers in 2024 dropped significantly. Closing the camps brought greater safety to Forest Grove (Go to Page 6 of link for the 2026 FGPD Mid-Year-Report for the graph showing total call comparisons from 2022-26).
Park & Rec: Supported NO field usage fees for youth sports.
Individual Liberty: The First Amendment of our constitution gives US citizens the right to have their voices heard without retribution. I listen and interact during discussion with fellow councilors and constituency. Whether paid or volunteer, public officials are accountable to those they represent.
Public Safety: Protect police and fire department funding. Police officers and firefighters deserve our support for putting their lives on the line to protect our community. I’m currently serving as liaison on the Rural Fire Board observing firsthand the work our personnel are doing to improve response times. I support the bond for the new police station. A few of the many issues: the current station needs major repair, too small for the number of employees and doesn’t provide a secure and safe place for victim interviews. Fiscal responsibility: Account for every expense. Taxpayer money should benefit the public. Continued transparency and accountability.
